National Lottery Community Fund
The National Lottery Community Fund enabled us to launch Gig Buddies Glasgow. The cities response to having its own local project blew us away. In 2019 we launched to a brilliant member base, fantastic volunteer interest, and a host of venues asking to work with us!
Foundation Scotland
Foundation Scotland’s Response Fund enabled up to increase our online activities in the second lockdown. We were able to host social events, and run workshops that gave members the tools to host their own events and developed materials such as video content to accompany these workshops. This funding also enabled us to print more physical materials to keep our members up to date with current C-19 guidelines and how they effected Gig Buddies.
West Lothian Council
West Lothian Council enables us to roll out or Gig Buddies project in West Lothian. Although it’s a much more rural area than Edinburgh and Glasgow, the local community has rallied around the project, making it just as varied and vibrant as our other projects.
The David Solomons Charitable Trust
The David Solomons Charitable Trust has supported Gig Buddies to empower individuals with a learning disability to take control of their social life, expand their social circles, and give members more confidence in accessing the events that their local community has to offer.
Hugh Fraser Foundation
The Hugh Fraser Foundation has contributed towards enabling people with a learning disability in Glasgow to access Gig Buddies enabling them to feel less isolated and more connected and to develop their own social networks and have new experiences whilst socialising with other people who share their interests.
Meikle Foundation
The Meikle Foundation has contributed towards enabling people with a learning disability in Scotland to access Gig Buddies, making lasting positive changes for people with a learning disability or autism to enjoy a more fulfilling life in a fairer society.
Stevenson Charitable Trust
The Stevenson Charitable Trust has contributed towards enabling members to attend whatever ‘gigs’ interest them with their Gig Buddy in Edinburgh and have facilitated us to create a diverse program of group social events, with a strong emphasis on trying new events and opportunities together.
Arnold Clark Community Fund
The Arnold Clark Community Fund has contributed towards enabling people with additional support needs to get out to more events they love.
