Positive Behaviour Support (PBS), has been used throughout the support Thera offers, in particular in the last four years with the expertise of Matt Bindon, Head of PBS. Matt works closely with people supported, their families, other professionals and Thera staff teams to assist in understanding how to apply the correct PBS approaches to help people Thera supports in their day-to-day life.
Xxx is supported by Aspire, part of the Thera Group, and previously he had serious signs of anxious behaviour and an unhealthy lifestyle. He now has a settled, consistent staff team who have worked hard to get to know him and find out how he likes to be supported. They understand what he enjoys and what helps him to stay happy, well and safe. They also are able to work with xxx to minimise any potential triggers and to teach self-soothing techniques to help relieve times of anxiety and stress. Xxx gets on really well with his staff team and there is a great rapport and relationship between them which has contributed immensely to xxx having a good life.
