Care Development East, who host the Suffolk Care Awards, is an organisation dedicated to promoting excellence across the social care and health workforce in the east of England. The Ambassador of the Year Award recognises an individual who has acted as an advocate for Health or Social Care, to inspire the next generation of Health and Social Care workforce.

Alan was nominated by his team because he has had a huge impact on the people we support as well as our staff. His tenure has led him to become a Senior Support Worker which allows him to share his knowledge and help develop support teams and new starters. Alan said:

I felt chuffed to be recognised for the hard work I have put in; I am passionate about my role in making sure the people we support are living their best lives possible and the team around me feel valued. The Care Awards was a fabulous event, so many like-minded hard-working people being recognised for their contributions to the care and support community.

We are so proud of Alan for reaching the final of the Suffolk Care Awards and his dedication to supporting people with a learning disability to live the lives they choose. These awards are one of
the many examples of the life changing impact social care staff have on people’s lives!
