Thera East Midlands recently celebrated its staff teams at its annual awards event! One amazing award winner was Vanda, a who works as a Community Support Leader. Vanda has been working in the health and social care industry for 17 years, starting as a Support Worker. She graduated from University and knew she wanted to be involved in a profession where she could support people. After working in many kinds of support, she was able to advance within Thera. Since becoming a Support Worker with Thera, Vanda progressed to Team Coordinator, and then to a Community Support Leader.
Since the start of the pandemic, staff have had to adapt to new ways of doing their jobs. They are committed to providing high quality, person-centred support. As well as Personal Protection Equipment rules, staff and people supported have had to adapt to social distancing, testing, and being unable to go into the community.
Vanda as a Community Support Leader was involved in working with the team, but was also helping support the people supported by Thera East Midlands directly. Her hard work during this time was recognised by people supported by Thera East Midlands, as well as support workers. She was nominated her for the Motivational Leader Award in the Thera East Midlands awards!
The people who nominated her were impressed with her organisational skills, her willingness to help, and how dependable she was.
Congratulations to Vanda, and well done for your hard work and commitment to the people supported by Thera in this challenging time!
