Volunteering with Equal Futures not only helps you support people with a learning disability, but it can also support you to learn new skills and become more confident.
We are currently recruiting for the following voluntary positions:
Volunteer Befrienders
Volunteer Befrienders form part of the circle of support for people with a learning disability. You will be helping them to build confidence and participate in social activities in the community.
As a befriender, you will meet the person you are supporting flexibly. You will be supported by our dedicated Project Coordinators throughout your time as a volunteer.

Community Event Volunteer
Community Event Volunteers attend and assist social events for people with a learning disability in their local area. Volunteers work as part of the events team to plan and deliver exciting social events which will reduce people’s isolation and increase opportunities to socialise.

Volunteer Professionals
Volunteer Professionals use their expertise in Health, Social Work, Nursing, Social Care, or Education to support people with a learning disability through times of transition. You will be added to a bank of volunteers, and be called upon when a family needs support within your area of expertise.

Social Media Volunteer
Social Media Volunteers support the work of Equal Futures by expanding our presence on social media. We are looking for someone who can commit for at least 6 to 12 months and support us with regular content on Facebook, Twitter, and Linkedin.
