This not only recognises the hard work of Thera’s fantastic staff during an unusual year, but will also allow the people they support to expand their range of activities during the winter months.
Lincolnshire’s Community Foundation, responsible for managing the fund, were impressed by Thera’s dedication and ethos. Because of this, Thera have now obtained an award worth £468.12!
As a result, the team are able to purchase a greenhouse, potting bench and seed trays for their sensory garden. They will be implementing this project at their their day support base in Boston. Consequently, people they support will be able to learn about growing their own vegetables, develop new skills and participate in positive social interactions. They are thrilled!
Sarah Clark, the Managing Director of Thera East Midlands, has shared her thoughts on this fantastic news:
I am absolutely delighted that our day opportunities in Boston has been awarded £468.12 to add a greenhouse to the existing sensory garden. The sensory garden is already a big hit with the people who attend our day opportunities! The addition of the greenhouse is going to be the icing on the cake. It will have such a positive impact and allow those we support to develop new skills and interests. I cannot wait to see all the wonderful plants and produce they grow.
