We are pleased to announce that we have been awarded two stars as part of the Sustainable Restaurant Association’s Food Made Good Standard. Achieving this Standard goes towards achieving our sustainability goals for now and into the future.
As an organisation focused on doing the right thing for society, we have a passion and commitment to support not only people with a learning disability but also our planet. Our social enterprises strive to deliver high-quality food and drink, and support people with a learning disability whilst reducing our environmental footprint and increasing our positive social impact.
As committed members of the Sustainable Restaurant Association, we have implemented a range of measures across our social enterprises in line with the objectives of Sustainable Food Places including promoting sustainable food production, consumption and resource efficiency, and reducing, redirecting and recycling waste.
Looking to the future, we still have a journey to reach our sustainability goals but reaching this Standard and working towards achieving three stars will further support our goals.
Of working with the Sustainable Restaurant Association to achieve this standard, Lynn Parker, Operations Manager at Unity Works, said:
The team at Sustainable Restaurant Association were so patient and helpful with us. The process and questions involved certainly prompted us, as a business to think outside the box. This accreditation will certainly help steer us in a new direction.
