Unity Works is delighted to announce that our Greenwich based Adult Learning Programme were a Highly Commended Finalist for this year’s awards in the Inclusive Provider of Adult Education award category. The Adult Learning Awards is the Mayor of London’s annual flagship skills event, raising awareness of the fantastic adult learning happening in London, from the Londoners who have achieved great things through taking up adult learning, to the colleges and providers delivering high quality opportunities and the employers offering good work.
A record 329 nominations were received across London with winners revealed at a ceremony at City Hall on Wednesday 6 November, where Londoners and representatives from businesses, communities and the capital’s thriving FE sector came together to celebrate the inspirational stories of Londoners, employers, community organisations, providers, and their staff.
Being a finalist for these awards is a fantastic achievement, and we are so pleased that our Adult Learning Team’s hard work and dedication in supporting people with a learning disability across Greenwich is being recognised in this way. Our Adult Learning programme supports people with a learning disability to develop self-confidence, to learn new skills and to improve their understanding of their local community. Suzanne Thomson, Learning & Skills Manager at Unity Works, said:
We were so pleased to be invited to celebrate at the third Mayor of London Adult Learning Awards. This year, there were well over 300 nominations and a shortlist of just 30! We are so proud to be highly commended for our inclusive provision of adult learning for people with a learning disability. We look forward to next year’s event and more opportunities to meet likeminded organisations!
We would like to congratulate everyone recognised by the awards. You can read more about the winners here: Winners of Mayor of London Adult Learning Awards 2024
